In this contribution, we discuss the menu of policy regimes available for Iceland. Each regime is evaluated against the characteristics of the Icelandic economy. We start with a short description of the Icelandic economy. We then examine the costs and benefts of alternative monetary regimes. In two late Mesolithic cemeteries, dated to about 5000 BCE, at Skateholm, Scania in Sweden, some graves were found that contained clothing decorations, mainly in the form of tooth beads but also other animal parts that were used as embellishments.
