6 §Construction Contracts are not regulated by Swedish law. Instead, the construction industry uses standard agreements. Construction Contracts usually state that compensation shall be paid as a fixed award or performed on an open account basis. The Swedish standard agreement AB 04 regulates compensation performed on an open account basis in AB 04 chapter 6 paragraphs 9-10. AB 04 chapter 6 paragraph

Effects of data uncertainty in Swedish critical load assessment for forest soils.

The effects of input data uncertainty on the critical loads and exceedance estimates for Swedish forest soils was assessed using Monte Carlo simulations of the PROFILE model. The study focuses on the effects of data uncertainty on the 5%-ile critical load at 150 × 150 km resolution and the 95%-ile exceedance at 150 × 150 km and 50 × 50 km resolution. The results indicate that data uncertainty limi

Groundwater flow modelling to address hydrogeological response of a contaminated site to remediation measures at Hjortsberga, southern Sweden

Förorenat grundvatten spridsPentachlorophenol (PCP) is a chlorinated aromatic compound that was commonly used for treatment of wood against microbial degradation before it got banned in the 1970s. Due to its solubility in water, PCP is a common groundwater contaminant around old sawmills, for example near Hjortsberga in southern Sweden where this study was performed.. The contaminated groundwater is spreading and leaking int

Polymorphic populations of Dactylorhiza incarnata s.l. (Orchidaceae) on the Baltic island of Gotland: morphology, habitat preference and genetic differentiation.

Background and Aims Organisms may be polymorphic within natural populations, but often the significance and genetic background to such polymorphism is not known. To understand the colour polymorphism expressed in the diploid marsh-orchids Dactylorhiza incarnata, morphological, habitat and genetic differentiation was studied in mixed populations on the island of Gotland, supplemented with genetic m

Estimation of local near-surface wind conditions - a comparison of WASP and regression based techniques

This study compares the performance of different models used to assess the local wind near-surface conditions at an agricultural site in Scania, southern Sweden. The methods are: (a) the WASP model (Wind Analysis and Application Program), (b) separate linear regressions of the two wind vector components, (c) a regression model based on vector correlation, and (d) linear regression of scalar wind.

Using odour traps for population monitoring and dispersal analysis of the threatened saproxylic beetles Osmoderma eremita and Elater ferrugineus in central Italy

Pheromone-based monitoring could be a very efficient method to assess the conservation status of rare and elusive insect species, but there are still few studies for which pheromone traps have been used to obtain information on presence, abundance, phenology and movements of such insects. We performed a mark-recapture study of two threatened saproxylic beetles, Osmoderma eremita (Scarabaeidae) and

Identification of the major phosphorylation sites for protein kinase C in kit/stem cell factor receptor in vitro and in intact cells

The c-kit-encoded tyrosine kinase receptor for stem cell factor (Kit/SCFR) is crucial for the development of hematopoietic cells, melanoblasts, and germ cells. Ligand stimulation of Kit/SCFR leads to receptor dimerization and autophosphorylation on tyrosine residues. We recently showed, that protein kinase C (PKC) acts in an SCF-stimulated negative feedback loop, which controls Kit/SCFR tyrosine k

Linking plant roles and operations strategy decision-making autonomy in international manufacturing networks

This paper is concerned with the management of multi-plant manufacturing networks. Two key concepts in this domain are plant roles and plant autonomy in the context of operations strategy decision-making. We investigate the relationship between these two concepts and their impact on plant performance. We use data from 102 manufacturing plants belonging to multi-plant networks. The results suggest

Binding and inhibition of spermidine synthase from Plasmodium falciparum and implications for in vitro inhibitor testing

The aminopropyltransferase spermidine synthase (SpdS) is a promising drug target in cancer and in protozoan diseases including malaria. Plasmodium falciparum SpdS (PfSpdS) transfers the aminopropyl group of decarboxylated S-adenosylmethionine (dcAdoMet) to putrescine or to spermidine to form spermidine or spermine, respectively. In an effort to understand why efficient inhibitors of PfSpdS have be

Spatiotemporal variation of net methane emissions and its causes across an ombrotrophic peatland : a site study from Southern Sweden

Denna studie försöker öka förstMethane emissions from natural wetlands are an important contributor to methane levels in the atmosphere. These emissions are highly variable in time and space, even within sites. Further understanding of this variation is vital to successfully model the overall methane emissions from wetlands. This study investigates spatial variation through measurements of 22 plots across Fäjemyr bog. Manual me

Lessons from Nørrebro: Experiments in Urban Brownfield Redevelopment

With the sustainable potential of the city as a starting point, this thesis examines brownfield redevelopment in an existing urban context. The Nørrebro neighborhood of Copenhagen serves as a case. The focus is on learning from and reinterpreting existing urban structure, hierarchy, density and scale. Legislation allowing car free development at the chosen site, Vingelodden, also prompts explorati

Föräldraalienation i vårdnadsmål. En rättssociologisk studie om hur domstolar skapar legitimitet för sina beslut

The purpose of the thesis is to describe and analyze, from a socio-legal perspective, how appellate courts create legitimacy for their decisions in custody cases concerning custody, residence, and visitation where the phenomenon of parental alienation occurs. Parental alienation is when a child is deliberately turned against one of their parents through manipulation or influence, often by the othe

Comment on Makó et al. Examination of Age-Depth Models Through Loess-Paleosol Sections in the Carpathian Basin. Quaternary 2025, 8, 55

This commentary re-evaluates the study by Makó et al. which reconstructs dust accumulation rates from loess–paleosol sequences in the Carpathian Basin. Several methodological and factual issues substantially limit the reliability of their interpretations. The study reports linear sedimentation rates (mm a−1) as mass accumulation rates (MARs) without accounting for bulk density, rendering their val
