Double nudges can accelerate the transition towards more climate-friendly diets – experiment involving default meals and carbon footprint information
There is an increasing focus on the importance of reducing red meat consumption for environmental as well as health reasons. In this study, we have assessed how consumers' choice of protein source in a meal could be affected by two nudging tools. The first nudge consisted of serving a plant-based steak as the default option instead of beef, alongside placing the plant-based steak at the top of the
Persistent homology and the shape of evolutionary games
For nearly three decades, spatial games have produced a wealth of insights to the study of behavior and its relation to population structure. However, as different rules and factors are added or altered, the dynamics of spatial models often become increasingly complicated to interpret. To tackle this problem,we introduce persistent homology as a rigorous framework that can be used to both define a
New Archaeointensity Results from the Iron Age in Southern Africa
Abstract In this study we present new palaeointensity measurements on Iron Age (200 AD – 1840 AD) pottery from the southern Africa region, where there is only limited data available at present. Many sites only produce a single accepted palaeointensity result and we have therefore opted to focus on analysis at sample level as opposed to site level, which is more common in traditional archaeomagneti
Bacterial growth and antimicrobial resistance in urinary Escherichia coli isolates among men with lower UTI in Swedish primary healthcare: retrospective data over a 4 year period
Background: Escherichia coli, the most common bacterium causing urinary tract infections (UTIs), is increasinglyreported as resistant to multiple antibiotics. Swedish surveillance data from hospital and primary health care(PHC) report a 17%–19% prevalence of resistance to ciprofloxacin in E. coli from urine cultures in men over20 years of age. Surveillance data may include nosocomial infections. Normative Transmission and Necessary Means
This paper focuses on the interaction of reasons and argues that reasons for an action may transmit to the necessary means of that action. Analyzing exactly how this phenomenon may be captured by principles governing normative transmission has proved an intricate task in recent years. In this paper, I assess three formulations focusing on normative transmission and necessary means: Ought Necessity

Still leaders but less exceptional : The Nordic states and development assistance

Hedgerows Have a Barrier Effect and Channel Pollinator Movement in the Agricultural Landscape
Agricultural intensification and the subsequent fragmentation of semi-natural habitats severely restrict pollinator and pollen movement threatening both pollinator and plant species. Linear landscape elements such as hedgerows are planted for agricultural and conservation purposes to increase the resource availability and habitat connectivity supporting populations of beneficial organisms such as Agricultural intensification and the subsequent fragmentation of semi-natural habitats severely restrict pollinator and pollen movement threatening both pollinator and plant species. Toward an alternative dialogue between the social and natural sciences
Interdisciplinary research within the field of sustainability studies often faces incompatible ontological assumptions deriving from natural and social sciences. The importance of this fact is often underrated and sometimes leads to the wrong strategies. We distinguish between two broad approaches in interdisciplinarity: unificationism and pluralism.
